Ah, looking forward to seeing the vertical version, then.
Incidentally, the Gua Tempurung picture is indeed a painting of sorts. I left the shutter open for 20 seconds and fired the speedlight all over the chamber, ‘painting’ the cave with light.
(Hint: time to get a speedlight! Then again, I was actually about to mention that the legendary Henri Cartier-Bresson regarded flash photography as ‘going to a concert with a gun’, so do think twice!)
Pulau Rawa is pleasant, but better to do a day trip than stay over. Accessible from Tioman and Mersing; I’d recommend the latter unless you’ve never been to Tioman.
hahaha… keep looking forward.. it will be up by the end of this week, i think
ah.. like how you fired the cross in the church you went too.. you seem to like firing.. haha..
oh.. ok.. thanks for the advice.. will see if the trip happens this year.. wanna go see the blue sea and get some shots of the sea again… rarely there’re blue seas in M’sia
Read what the photographer says in the section ‘About the Photos’. Food for thought, heheh…
I like firing and painting with light, because to me there is an inherently creative element there, a way for the photographer to stamp his/her identity directly on a photo.
Also there’s lots of room for error, so there’s a strong human touch to the photos.
(Even wonder why the first thing God created was… light? )

Second opinion: it is a nice pic. The Astro dish adds to the urban feel.
The fact that it is silhouetted gives it an abstract feel and brings out the form of the object, rather than explicitly stating its identity.
I think it would be nice to see more of the houses below, to juxtapose the clouds and the human presence.
